Certain cars have a beautiful exhaust note out of the factory. Others, not so much.

Here's my GTP and it's exhaust note. I put up a sound byte about a week ago but that seems to have vanished so I made a vid instead hoping to be able to retrieve it.

Anyway, this vid doesn't do the car as much justice as the sound byte did but you get the point. And yeah, the whining is the supercharger.

What cars do you think have a great/terrible stock exhaust note?

I almost got an 07 GTP instead of my 05 GT. The fact that it ran on premium (or maybe mid-grade) was a deal breaker though. That and I got heated leather seats in the GT.

Better than I expected on this one!

I've got "A" heated leather seat in my GTP. I don't think there was an option for dual heated seats.

Love my GTP. Loved my previous one more but too many repairs needed when I got it and many more when I traded it. It was quicker and more lively than this one but they've both been a blast!

I can't pinpoint it, but I could never love the Nissan/Infinity 3.5/3.7L sound. I think the FX35 is the most annoying. It's not terrible like an Escape 4-cyl, but for a performance car, it doesn't float my boat.

I wish I understood what made that exhaust sound so great, so I could get my car to sound similar.

My engine is practically the same: 1.4 L 4-cyl Turbocharged. With a tune power would be exactly the same if not a little bit higher. I want that noise

Try going on the Fiat forums. I am pretty sure it is the headers the car has, but I am not 100% sure. Header make a huge difference in the way a car sounds(and performs).

Just listen to the difference!

Could be, unfortunately I'm pretty sure no one makes headers for the Sonic yet. GM sells a Borla exhaust that sounds pretty good, but at $800 it's a bit expensive

Well it depends on if the exhaust is a catback or axleback. I spent nearly 1000 dollars for a headerback system(minus one piece), so 800 for a catback is acceptable. I say you get it, it sounds very nice and gargly.

It's turboback I believe. It's not a terrible price for what it is, I'd agree, but I'm not looking to spend $800 right now. I might get it eventually

With a turbo car an exhaust will help a lot for performance. Be warned though, turboback might be loud!

Remove cat and less bends in the exhaust. Also dont run a muffler
